The town of Asbestos has just announced that a new Internet site has been launched spotlighting the history of the town. Featuring digital photographs from the archives of the Asbestos Historical Society, the site includes images of the town and the giant asbestos mine that made it famous, as well as texts on local history and information on the historical society.

The web site (available only in French) was made possible through a grant from the Digital Collections Programme of the Government of Canada.
