Architectural Walking Tour of Danville, an informative little brochure, is now available at outlets in and around Danville. Produced by the Association pour la mise en valeur du patrimoine de Danville, a non-profit group interested in the preservation of local heritage buildings, the bilingual pamphlet offers visitors three tours of the village, focusing on the various architectural styles seen along the way.
Visitors will be able to view examples of Queen Anne, American Vernacular, Greek Revival, Italianate, Second Empire, Boomtown, and other styles popular during Danville's heyday. They will also learn about the history of this area.
Walking tours
like Danville's are an excellent way for communities to promote their heritage architecture. They are also a great way for people to learn about their history and about the importance of preservation.
