A new weathervane was installed yesterday afternoon on the Stanstead South United Church steeple that was struck by lightning last July.


The total cost of the repair work [to the steeple] should be around $25,000, according to Mr. Lawrence Tilton. Most of this money was spent on labour as a structure of this height is difficult and dangerous to repair, as we can see in these pictures taken last Thursday.










Groupe Brimko's Alain Pivin is seen placing the new steeple as it is lowered from a crane. The first service, since the damage was done, will be held on Christmas Eve.
