By
all accounts, Townshippers' Day 2003 has been another big success.
The sun shone down the whole day, and thousands of revellers from
across the Townships and away descended upon Cowansville for the
day-long festivities.
T-Day
events were spread out across Cowansville at both indoor and outdoor
venues on both sides of the river, including Davignon Park, the
two elementary schools, two churches, the town library, the town
hall, and several other locations. Buses were available to shuttle
visitors back and forth. As well, many people took advantage of
the horse and buggy tours of Cowansville's historic sites, including
Bruck House, where about a dozen regional historical associations
had set up displays.

As usual, hundreds of artisans, vendors, and community groups from
across the Townships had booths, and entertainment continued throughout
the day in the main entertainment tent, as well as at the gazebo
in Davignon Park, at Emmanuel United Church, and in front of École
St-Léon.
By
and large Cowansville and its organizing committee put on a very
good show, the only real flaw being the inadequate number of food
vendors on-site. But all in all, it was an excellent day, with great
weather, and very well attended.
