Press Release
Judy Antle, Archivist,
Missisquoi Historical Society

For those of you who are not aware, the Missisquoi Historical Society, in Stanbridge East, just held their 3rd annual Twilight Graveyard Tour on August 9th, 2003. The MHS maintains and takes care of 17 abandoned graveyards in Missisquoi County and an idea was formed to hold a tour each year taking in approximately 4-5 graveyards. Research was done, histories written up, and compiled into a booklet which
included the individual graveyards, background history, genealogy, etc.

Our first booklet covered:
- the Russell Graveyard (St.Armand/Morse's Line)
- Krans (St.Armand)
- Luke (St. Armand)
- Hastings (St. Armand)
- Stanton (Stanbridge East)

Second booklet:
- Smith Graveyard (N. Pinnacle)
- Barnes (Dunham)
- Deming (N. Pinnacle)
- Selby (Dunham)

Third booklet:
- Bates Graveyard (Dunham)
- Capron (Dunham)
- Hazard (Dunham)
- Westover (Dunham)
- Wing (Dunham)

These booklets are available at $10.00 each, plus $4.00 postage & handling. To find out more about the Missisquoi Historical Society, or to contact us, click here.
