MISSION:
The history of Cowansville and area; genealogy.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Archives / Library (partly housed in the municipal library).

COLLECTIONS:
Publications and documents pertaining to local history and genealogy. These include: 6,000 subjects; 26,000 references; 12 directories (1851-1936); an index of 15,000 names (900 pages) from the publication Entre-Nous (1944-53), including photographs, births, marriages, and deaths for employees and their parents, in French and English; data from 15 cemeteries (5 in Cowansville, 10 elsewhere).

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES:
Research. On-site requests for information are usually responded to within minutes. Email requests often receive attention the same day.

Doctors in Cowansville from 1810 to 1940.
The Vilas Story.
Both publications are free with a donation of $5.00.

BUSINESS HOURS:
Year-round: Monday & Wednesday, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Annual membership: $5.00
Some fees may be charged for research. Donations are much appreciated.
