COMPTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY
 

DATE FOUNDED:
1993

MISSION:
To preserve and promote the history of Compton Township and its constituent communities (Compton Village, Compton Station, Waterville, and so on).

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
In cooperation with the Waterville Historical Society, the Compton Historical Society helps maintain the McIntosh Cemetery in Waterville.

COLLECTIONS:
Books and other documentation on local history and genealogy, cemetery listings, scrapbooks, and maps.

 

SPECIAL ACTIVITIES:
Occasional antiques and collectibles displays (fundraising events). Four meetings per year, sometimes featuring guest speakers. Genealogical research by special request. The Society has made donations to help restore the Spafford Bridge, as well as to other worthy causes.
