April 25- . Exhibition: "Frank Libbey and the Art of Woodworking." The Lennoxville-Ascot Historical and Museum Society is pleased to present this collection of woodenware, photos and literature which will be displayed on the second floor of Uplands Cultural and Heritage Centre in Lennoxville. Background: Frank Libbey was a gentleman with a social conscience, an independent thinker, an entrepreneur and a skillful craftsman. He was born in 1887, lived to be eighty-seven years of age and spent most of his life in Huntingville, Quebec. Over a period of thirty-five years he produced thousands of wood items. Only in the later years did he sign them. Come in to see them and you may recognize the next one you come across. The collection on display is primarily owned privately but is supplemented by some pieces belonging to the Lennoxville-Ascot Historical and Museum Society. The exhibition rooms are open Wednesday through Sunday from 1:00 to 4:30 pm., or by appointment. For information call (819) 564-0409.
